Gamers must wait longer for Grand Theft Auto VI after Rockstar Games announced another release delay. The studio now plans to launch the game in November 2026. Fans had expected its release this month, but Rockstar postponed it for the second time. The company initially set May 2026 as the release date, before moving it again to 19 November 2026. The original schedule targeted autumn of this year. Rockstar asked players for patience, saying it needs more time to finish the game and meet the standards fans “expect and deserve.”
Crime and Chaos Return in Vice City
The game lets players explore streets without limits, stealing cars and collecting luxury vehicles, bikes, and boats. Players face police pursuits, time-based challenges, violent brawls, and dramatic crashes. Characters trade insults with language unfit for polite company. Grand Theft Auto VI takes place in the state of Leonida, featuring the glowing streets of the fictional Vice City and its surroundings. Rockstar promises the largest and most detailed evolution in the franchise’s history.
A Legendary Franchise Maintains Its Grip
Since its debut 12 years ago, Grand Theft Auto has dominated global gaming culture. Each hit title—Vice City, San Andreas, and GTA IV—cemented its status as one of entertainment’s most influential series. The previous release, Grand Theft Auto V, sold over 215 million copies, ranking as the world’s second best-selling video game, just behind Minecraft.
