Erling Haaland once again proved unstoppable as Manchester City beat Bournemouth 3–1 to move up to second in the Premier League.
The Norwegian striker struck twice in the first half, punishing Bournemouth’s high defensive line with his trademark pace and precision. His goals took him to 13 in the league this season and an astonishing 98 in 107 Premier League appearances.
After Tyler Adams briefly levelled for Bournemouth following a Gianluigi Donnarumma error, Haaland restored City’s lead before halftime. Nico O’Reilly sealed the win in the second half, finishing a flowing move involving Phil Foden and Rayan Cherki.
Manager Pep Guardiola praised his side’s control and resilience as City claimed their sixth league win of the season, closing the gap on leaders Arsenal. Haaland, substituted to a standing ovation, joked afterward that “a few fantasy football managers were unhappy” about his early exit.
