The Premier League has approved fixture changes for Arsenal and Crystal Palace ahead of their Carabao Cup quarter-final meeting on Tuesday, 23 December at the Emirates Stadium.
Originally set to play on Sunday, 21 December, Arsenal’s trip to Everton and Palace’s match at Leeds will now take place at 8pm on Saturday, 20 December, to allow both sides more recovery time.
Palace, who face KuPS in the Europa Conference League on 18 December, requested the change to avoid playing three times in five days.
A Premier League spokesperson said: “Player welfare is a priority… this adjustment ensures adequate recovery time following the scheduling of other competitions.”
Both matches will still be broadcast live on Sky Sports.
