Frédéric Péchier faces trial for allegedly poisoning 30 patients in Besançon clinics between 2008 and 2017. Twelve died.
Authorities investigated Péchier after Sandra Simard suffered cardiac arrest during a routine operation in January 2017. Investigators discovered a lethal potassium dose in her anaesthesia bag.
Prosecutors Claim Intentional Medical Sabotage
Officials allege Péchier contaminated infusion pouches to endanger colleagues and then assisted in resuscitation attempts. They say he “always had a solution.”
Péchier denies all accusations. Victims ranged from 4 to 89 years old. His defense team vows to prove his innocence.
High-Stakes Trial Continues
The trial, expected to last until December, tests courts with its complexity and scale. Péchier remains free under judicial supervision.
